    1. Re: [WashingtonDC'' ] Glenwood Cem. virus message
    2. I'm glad to learn about the underscore before the email address being a clue to a virus, as I did not know that. But actually, in addition to that, there was another clue that it was a virus. The attachment name, which I can't remember the beginning of, was "(something).Mp3.scr". The clue here is that you can't name an attachment with two dots in it. If you ever get an attachment named that way, you can be sure it is a virus, which is how I knew to delete it. I was just wondering if the person who sent it was on our list and was aware that their computer was infected. Isn't it sad that some people don't have more constructive things to do with their time than to start a computer virus to spread. 3. When my zone alarm caught the virus, it renamed the file, so I did not see the 2 dots. Odd thing is my AVG did not pick it up..Thank goodness for Zone Alarm..although I never do run or open attachments unless it is a picture, and I can see the .jpg or .gif file in the body of my message before i open it..and that is also when I know it is coming before hand..I learned the hard way..and only took one time. My uncle is infamous for sending jokes via attachment, last year when we got our new puter, I was too buisy playing w/the puter to update my virus scan..and I opened the attachment..took me hours of cleaning..LOL.. I agree with you though, I really do not understand the logic in some people's minds as far as taking all the time to create virus's to damage other people's computers. 3. Sue: that virus seems to be going around many of the Rootsweb lists. The virus is not coming directly from the list, as Rootsweb cannot transmit a virus, but it is coming from users. The key is the underscore before the email address _ . My Zone Alarm is picking it up, not my AV program for some reason, but it is in fact a virus..so please everyone do not open and update your virus programs!
