Hello List Found Lillian Taylor on the 1900 census in Brooklyn , Pa. She was born in Winchester Va and married in Washington DC in 1894 to Luther Kellam Fish. Census says her mother , Rebecca Moulden was born in Maryland. I suspect Rebecca Moulden Taylor and George W Taylor , parents of Lillian are buried in Washington DC area. Suggestions on my next search for information would be appreciated. I want to find out what church they were married in and then see if they lived in the neighborhood of the church. Is there a place I could send for a marriage liscence back in 1894? Linda

Dear List Is anyone related to George W Taylor ? He was a resident of Winchester Virginia , where his daughter Lillian Taylor was born in 1870. The family moved to Washington DC where he worked in the Post Office. Lillian was married in Washington DC on October 3 1894 to Luther Kellam Fish of Brooklyn, Pa. George died, and I believe is buried somewhere in DC. He died around 1920? George had many children who were split up after the death of their mother. I believe her name was Rebecca Moulden. My great grandmother Lillian was about 12 years old and was sent out to be a ladies helper. Several of the boys went west to Utah. In 1974, 2 decendents of these children met at my Aunt Pauline's home in Brooklyn Pa. Virginia Pauline Fish Mead was the daughter of Lillian Taylor Fish. I hope someone is able to help me find this family. I am very curious to know why George was given the postal position in DC after the Civil War. Linda Fish Dabulewicz

They are descendents of Michael Caton >/ Keating who came from Ireland around 1825 - 30. For what it's worth, there's a Catonsville, Maryland. It is west of Baltimore near Rt. 29 or Rt. 40 and east of Silver Spring, MD.

F.Y.I. There are many Bailey's in the early Fairfax County, Virginia area. That would be right next to DC, and depending on the year a part of DC. I have the book Elephants and Quaker Guns by Jane Chapman Whitt. It gives the history of Bailey's Cross Roads Virginia and a lot of Bailey family history. I can lend the book for your reading, please let me know if you would like to read it. Your local library would probably be able to get it also. Helen
Hi list, In going thru some very old pictures I found I came across a picture dated on the back as Sept.1909 the name of Edgar Pearson. It's a very nice picture of a well dressed gentleman in a business suit. I don't have a clue as to who this is. I'd be happy to e-mail this to anyone who may have Edgar in their family line. If you think Edgar belongs to your family, let me know. Betty McHale - b.mchale@worldnet.att.net

I have William Bailey in the 1880 DC census whose occupation is H.&S. Painter. Does anyone know what H.&S. stands for? Also, does anyone have an 1870 DC census, and could do a lookup for William (b.PA) and/or Elizabeth (b.NY) Bailey, about 35 years old? In 1860 census they were in the 1st Ward, and later lived at 915 5th St. N.W. Thanks very much for any help. Hi Listers ~ I've recently found two pictures of folks I think are the children of John Burlingame Wetherbee/Weatherby.....the boy - Leslie E. Wetherbee was b. Nov. 1895 in New York (and looks between 15-20 in the picture). The girl, Kathleen Wetherbee, don't know where she was born, but she looks between 7-10 in the picture.....her picture has a DC photographer's imprint on it, but I only have a photocopy and can't make out the name. Does anyone have a city directory, who could see if there is a John Wetherbee in DC in either 1910 or 1920? If I can get an address, I stand a chance of finding them in the census! Also, is there any listing of photographers in the area between 1910 and 1920? All I can make out is what *looks* like: maybe (L. ) A.S.???? **125th St. N.* *W.Washington, DC Many thanks in advance. Dianne

Hello! I have a Keating line, but I have not yet really researched it. They did live in Georgetown in the 1800's and well into the 1900's. My Grandmother was a Keating. I have some records, just have not really pursued them yet. Still working on my primary (Payne) ancestors! I do not know who they were descendent of. My Grandmother's parents were William Charles Keating b. 5/8/1860 d. 2/7/1906 (DC) Married to Priscilla R. King 5/16/1882 (DC) If you think they connect, I have other records and information that I would gladly share Winona
Frank, Perhaps you can answer a question for me. I have the information regarding the burial of an individual from a Roman Catholic Church. Knowing that the Church was particular about who they buried, ie., they had to be Catholic. One would think that they would have the information as to their parents etc., Now I know which church She was buried from. But they tell me that the information will not be provided unless I can produce her parents names'. Unfortunately, I don't know her parents names and will never know them unless they release the information. Now, she has been dead for 100 years and I am a bit frustrated. The death certificates in DC do not provide parents names only the location of birth. Do you have any advice as to who to phrase the question. Trish
