    1. [WashingtonDC'' ] Re: Library of Congress
    2. Parker - Beloit, KS
    3. Yes, there is a subway station on block south of the Library of Congress. It is a slight uphill climb and then you will have the Monroe Building on your east and the Jefferson Building on your north east. The Jefferson building you go in from the east side and the Monroe Building you go in from the south. Most of the information needed is often in the backside of the Jefferson Building. You will need to go through an ID process, and if I remember right, that is in the Monroe Bldg. The Library of Congress also uses copy cards that are useable only at the Library of Congress. You can do some initial reference lookups on the Library of Congress Internet site. 2. I am new to this list and thought I would ask if anyone else is descended from or researching the following families located mainly in upper northwest (mostly Tenleytown/Friendship Heights) DC or from nearby Montgomery County Maryland married into upper northwest DC families. Most of these families were here from at least the 1850s. Some of these families had branches in other parts of DC. Some of these families owned shops or did business in Georgetown or downtown DC. Bohrer, Huddleson, Huddleston, Lansdale, Paxson, Paxton, Renshaw, Shoemakers, Tomlinson, Walther, Wolford Hi, I am descended from the Lansdale family from DC and Maryland, I can give you some info if it is the same line. Do you have any first names or other information you can give me? I did not recognize the other names you listed. Feel free to email me. Siobhan Dennis
