    1. [WashingtonDC'' ] DC assistance needed
    2. I have been trying to locate any kind of marriage information on my grandparents, Thomas J. Robey and Anna E. Darnall (or Darnell). They would have been married sometime between 1899-1904. All indications from census records indicate that all their children were born in MD. Eldest son, Raymond Leroy Robey, now deceased, was born 7 August, 1904. I can find NO RECORDS of them in MD until 1905, where he shows up in Baltimore City Directory. Raymond does not show up any- where in MD birth records. If anyone has any source for any of this actually occuring in DC, Thomas J. Robey's, birthplace vice MD it would greatly point me in the right direction. Would appreciate any help here with birth record, marriage record or even a DC listing for Thomas during any of the years in question (1899-1904). Chuck Robey

    2. Linda Dabulewicz
    3. I am looking for information about the family of George W Taylor. He was born in Virginia . He was married to Rebecca Mouldon and had a very large family. He was a participant in the Civil War. I suspect he was on the side of the North, although I do not know in what capacity. He was appointed to the Washington DC post office as a result of his war efforts. He died in Washington DC in about 1914. His daughter , My great grandmother Lillian Taylor was married in the Grace ME Church in DC ,on October 17 1894, to Luther Kellam Fish. They then moved to Brooklyn , Pennsylvania. I know there are other members of this very large family. I met 2 of them in 1974. Since that time my great aunt has passed away and I do not have their addresses. One lived in Idaho and another in Colorado. Any information at all would be appreciated . The names are very common except each of George's daughter's names was a kind of flower. Lillian ,Rose, Daisy, and there was a George Junior and a Jo! hn who lived for a time in Utah around 1900. Thanks Linda ______________________________

    2. Kathleen, I don't know if this is any connection or not, the names are not the same but I happen to have these notes from the Washington, D.C. Will of Washington S. Hurley dated 3/28/1885 and probated 8/11/1893. Wife: Malvina R., daughters: Laura V. Norton, Emma J. Clements and Ida E. Hurley. Sons: George W. Hurley and William W. Hurley. HURLEY - living in NW D. C. in 1974 Hi List, In the memory book from my grandmother's funeral of 11 Oct 1974, one of the attendee's signed their name Ella M. HURLEY, and gave the address 4208 Yuma St., NW, 20016. My grandmother was Ella Elizabeth DONEGAN and her parents were John Dominic DONEGAN and Mary Ellen HURLEY. Because her maternal line was HURLEY, I feel certain that the funeral attendee was a relative - just don't know how! I tried a white pages search, but no one in D. C. or the surrounding areas has the same name/address. Does this Ella Hurley ring a beel or appear in anyone's data? Thanks! 3. > I think Glen Echo would have been a little far on a horse! She said "Time line is 1894 -1920." If I'm not mistaken, I believe by this time there were other forms of transportation besides horses! My grandmother was born in that time frame in 1899 on Pennsylvania Ave. and was one of 11 children. Her mother managed to "travel" and take these kids not only to Tennallytown to visit family but also to the Eastern Shore of MD. In 1906 she even went to PA to get her dead father's body and bring it back to DC for burial. Yes, indeed, there were other forms of transportation and people DID manage to get away from their home and go places. FWIW, in Maryland, there is a Glenallan Avenue in an area named Glenallen. Glenallen is near Wheaton, Maryland. Wheaton is about 5-10 miles north of Washington, DC. I know you're looking for a Glenallen in DC, but thought I'd point out the above.

The family consisted of Joseph b. Nov 1827, and wife Elizabeth (Rizer) b. Mar 1830. Children were Rosabell b. 1852, George P. born 1854, Edward L. born Nov 1855, Clara b. 1857, Ernest M. born 1869, and Grace McClelland b. 1874. Edward apparently did not marry, but who were the spouses of the other children? When did everyone die? And where are they buried? Thank you, Kathleen Rizer

    2. Heritage Books has two volumes by Mr. Hurley on the Hurley family in America. However, they're rather expensive, one is more than $70 and the other over $60. I was interested in obtaining a copy of a book Mr. Hurley had written about the Walker family which was no longer in print at Heritage Books. I contacted their office and they furnished me his home address so I could contact him personally. Perhaps, you could do the same and he could tell you if these volumes contained information on your Hurley line before you purchase them. BTW, in case you don't have Heritage Book's web site, here it is: www.heritagebooks.com Barbara
