I am trying to find Daniel Fagan b.c.1799 D.C.d.July 25,1824 D.C.m.Ann Murphy Aug.17,1817 D.C.And Daniel Fagan b.c.1780 who m.Margaret Bollens Sept.12,1801 D.C.And Asa Fagan b.c.1800 d.? D.C.m.Jane Padgett Oct.16,1823 D.C.She may have m.William Parker Jan.20,1833 D.C.
Do you have a Hetty Robinson Serrin b.1772 Del./Md..who m.Jabez Serrin in 1791 Phil.Pa.in you data.Hetty was in D.C.in 1820 with son's James,John,William,Daniel and Daughter's Phebe,Hetty Jane, and Mary Ann.
Jane Pdgett never married Wm Parker. William Parker married Jane Fagan. WHy do you think Jane Padgett is the widow of Asa? First off 1799 it would be MD, not DC yet. Not offically. Thats why often you'll see Fagan or Serrin say MD. Not sure the daniel's are connected Believe the baltimore daniel came from Carolinas, not md. Your making life complex for yourself. You need to look at the census and see that Daniel is still alive in 1830 georgetown. His daughter his a member of the du;mbarton church there and was baptized, he buried a child in 1824, georgetown, he bought another coffin in georgetown. Let me look at the ages on the census. In 1817 to be married he would be probably in his late teens early 20s. There were most likely two daniels. an older one. The line seems to come from Joseph and Catherine. Nicholas says that himself and it is possible that daniel was his brother. no proof of that, but the name used by arabella was joseph daniel. I will see what i can find on the baltimore line. barbara --- Sue Vanatti <[email protected]> wrote: > I am trying to find Daniel Fagan b.c.1799 D.C.d.July > 25,1824 D.C.m.Ann Murphy Aug.17,1817 D.C.And Daniel > Fagan b.c.1780 who m.Margaret Bollens Sept.12,1801 > D.C.And Asa Fagan b.c.1800 d.? Well I contacted Chambers out in Riverdale, Md. a few monthes ago, and talked to a not so helpful lady that told me that they no longer keep records of people being buried there! So I am guessing it is who you talk to is the problem. I was trying to get information on my mother who died in 1965, the lady said "we do not keep records that long ago", lol. My family has had generations of Stokes' and Lewises buried at Chambers on 11th st. se. So I am going to try again, when I can speak to someone who actually knows about the funeral business! Karen
I contacted the Lee Funeral Home in Clinton, Maryland, a couple of years ago on the offchance that a family member MIGHT have been buried by Lee. Some other members of the family had been, so Lee was a possibility. The young lady I spoke with at that time informed me there would be a $20.00 change for them to SEARCH their records whether they had any information or not. $20.00 would have been expensive for copies of the records, but for a search it seemed to be outrageous. Don't know if that's what they charge today, or if that was just a number they quoted to discourage genealogists. I know some funeral homes and cemeteries are less than helpful, while some go out of their way to help (Gasch's in Hyattsville and Marshalls in Suitland fall into the helpful category). Marshalls have the records for the Deale and Wilhelm Funeral Homes, too. Dies anyone know if the records for the Chambers Funeral Home are in existance and, if so, where they are located?
Yes it was and there is an Utterback Store Road in Fairfax. I think it was in Fairfax. My family of Utterbacks was one of the 13 families that came to this Country in 1707 and settled Germanna which was the colony, between Fredericksburg and Culpeper, where they now have a museum and a Community College. They left Germany, ran out of money in London, and finally made a deal and were endentured for 10 years. They were iron miners but really were put there to protect the English from the Indians. This is a short version. My GGgrandparents - James Fitzpatrick and Katherine Cullen - were Irish Catholics. They were married in and attended St. Aloysius Church on North Capital Street, and lived on 5th Street N.E., then Callan Street, and later 7th Street N.E. Both are buried at Mt. Olivet Cemetary. Not sure what funeral home they were buried from, but later family members were all buried from the Gasch's Funeral Home near the Peace Cross in Bladensburg, Maryland.
