It was in the Wallingford district in Seattle although I don't know if the city limits extended that far north at the time. Seattle is in King County. This home was run by nuns so may have been a convent and they took in girls, perhaps unwed mothers.
Right, the Home of Good Shepard was/is a home for unwed mothers. I'm not sure as of this date if it is still running, but it was is 1970. I think it was run by the Sisters of Providence, or possibly the Sisters of the Sacred Heart. ----- Original Message ----- From: <denisemcobb@msn.com> To: <WASHINGTON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, December 18, 2004 9:24 PM Subject: [WASHINGTON-L] Re: CONVENTS FOR GIRLS? 1914 MAYBE > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/CCC.2ACE/2905.1 > > Message Board Post: > > The Good Shepard Home or House of Good Shepard, I don't remember the exact > name.
