Sue, I like the free locating service offered by http://www.alibris.com. You put in the book title and if they come across it, they'll email you. Another thing you might try is http://www.powellbooks.com. They're in Portland have several huge buildings of books. The first one "find in a library", you input Washington and it gave 35 libraries. I tried the last one Western Washington University, and input the book title "Up the Columbia.." and they have it available.
