When I was in WA I called Olympia and >they said I couldn't check death records. >What films are available and what years do they cover?? >Selma Grant Hello again all, I am aware of the Washington State Death Index that is available on microfilm, and I believe, although the years may be off some, that it covers years 1909 through 1962 (roughly). I have viewed the film myself in the Spokane Public Library. I have seen the deaths listed for my great-grandfather in 1911, and my grandfather in 1957. It lists the name of person, date of death, age at death, place of death (county, I think), and death certificate number. Hope this helps clear up some questions you have on this. It's not a death record, but it is an index, covering the entire state. Susan
