JIM, I don't know if Spokane was the closest place to have a cremation.......but why do you think there are no cemetery records? Have you checked all cemeteries in Butte Montana..........and Spokane? He may likely be buried in Spokane........but on the other hand the year is 1916....and THAT's not that long ago. I mean....Butte Montana wasn't such a large place.....so no cremation facilities.....but They had to bury him somewhere! Looking for relatives? Go to Switchboard........and type in BAKER.......then type in WA. Call or write everyone of them. You could strike it rich. Don't put any first names in, just Baker. Then do the same with Montana. The son Frederick C. Baker could have had children who are LIVING! Good Luck............ xxxxxxxo Louise King La Jolla, CA In a message dated 8/2/98 8:45:32 AM, JRBAKERJR@prodigy.net wrote: >Is there any way to find out if he had relatives in Spokane, or if this >was just the nearest place that cremation was available?
