    3. The Washington State Death Index goes to at least 1989--I found my husband's biological grandfather on there and he died in 1989. It lists name, social security number (when they had one), gender, death date, age at death and death certificate number. There are two location codes, which I *think* indicate place of residence and place of death. I believe that the place codes are more specific than giving just county, because I notice on the list I copied, I have annotated the place codes with specific cities--and some of the entries were for people I never researched any farther than the death index look-up, so I don't think I got the place names from anywhere else.
