This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/CCC.2ACE/2983.1 Message Board Post: Since the record appears to be a felony or multiple felony convictions, and he served at McNeil Island, his records (if still archived) would be held by the Washington State Department of Corrections. You can contact their public disclosure office via email at "kwilson-kirby@doc1.wa.gov" I would suggest that you provide as much information as you can about Mr. Spencer. The email that you posted last about him would be acceptable, unless you have more information about him or his criminal activity. If he was 56 at death in 1983, he would have been born circa 1927. If he was 17 years at the time of arrest, that would have been around 1944. In that year, the United States was at War, World War 2. If he had committed only felony thefts, such as horses, the court system could have allowed him to enlist in the military. Also, I find it difficult to believe that a person that would have been incarcerated for a felony conviction would be a policeman later in life.
