    3. While trying to track down information on my gr-gr grandmother Ellen Elizabeth HILL (b. 2 Jan 1857 somewhere in Norway), I was looking through "Washington Pioneers" and found a Louis HILL also born in Norway. There is a family legend that Ellen E. HILL had a brother named Louie who went to Alaska during the Gold Rush and was never heard from again. Is it possible, this Louis HILL who died in Seattle in 1928 could be my long lost gr-gr granduncle? There were a lot of people who went through Seattle on their way to and from Alaska during the Gold Rush. Maybe he never made it to Alaska, and decided to stay in Seattle? Or maybe he came back from Alaska, stayed in Seattle, had a family, and for some reason never contacted his sister? This Louis HILL didn't marry until he was 39 years old. Anyways, this is the information I found on this Louis HILL in Washington Pioneers, Vol.1, p. 212: Louis HILL b. 11 Sep 1863 Sogne, NWY s/o Anders Hilleren & Synnove; d. 16 Jan 1928, Seattle, WA; m. 1901 to Caroline Anderson (b. 13 Aug 1874 Hegalund, NWY, d/o Anders Skotvall & Barbro) Children: Anna Bergette Serene b. 23 Nov 1905 Tacoma, WA Elmer August b. 23 Sep 1908 Tacoma, WA; m1.
