    3. Hello, Hoping to find info on Lars(not sure what surname he used)Hågenson/Rokkenes/Mikkelson?. According to the Bygdebok(Norwegian Farm history) he emigrated to Seattle, WA. He left Trondheim, Norway on June 20, 1900 bound for "Boston" US. It shows his ticket paid for in Amerika. The farm history shows he settled in Seattle, Washington. Thank you for any help.

There are hundreds of us on it from the US, Norway and other countries. It's also a GREAT place to learn about the Norwegian heritage. Here is some info: http://www.rootsweb.com/~norway/NorwayList.htm As far as Lars. You didn't provide a date of birth, or a farm name (unless Rokkenes is that name). That type of information is crucial for identification. Additional searches for him just using first name and DOB could be done. Any other information would also help. For Hågenson: I have a Lars Hogenson, living in Spokane, WA, in the 1920 census. He was born about 1867 in Norway. The census images does not have his emigration year. The Washington death Index shows, probably the same one, age 83, death on 7 Jan 1950. There are a number of Haagensen, Haagenson also in the US. With a DOB, one might be him. For Rokkenes. Found none using that name and Soundex. For Mikkelson (MikkelsEn): Have a Lars Andreas MikkelsEn ("E" vs "O") in the World War I Draft Registration Cards. He was living in Seattle, born in Norway on February 28, 1884. He was not a US citizen, but was a declarant, indicating his intent. He was in the Fish Business. His nearest relative was his brother Berent Mikkelsen in the "Mad Cure Sanitorium, Shacopel, Minn. He was residing in the Travellers Hotel, Yesler Ave, Seattl. Have a Lars Mikkelson, living in Seattle in the 1930 census, born in Norway about 1894. Did your Lars emigrate with parents or other family? This one would have only been 6 in 1900. This one is married to Judith and had two children. A Lars Michaelsen was found on the Washington Death Index, death on 19 Oct 1973 in Colville, WA. This happens to be my old home town. If this Lars is the correct one, depending on his DOB being late enough to the age he might have been in 1973, I did know a Rolf Michaelsen, that may be related. I found this person on the Social Security Death index, born 22 July 1887, so probably not the right one, unless he emigrated at 13. I was going to try to find him and his farm on the Norway census via the Digitalarkivet, but that database system is currently down. I also tried other Norwegian farm databases but was unsuccessful I did find a lars Rokkenes in Sor Trondelag, Norway...but this one was born on 2 Jan 1688 (year is correct at 1688). But, I'm assuming this is his farm name. Ron
