    3. Mark Lease recently asked: >I am trying to obtain the service number of my grandfather who died >in WWII. He was in the navy. I have tried the Veterans Admin but no >luck. Does anyone have an idea as to how I can get this number? >Thanks, >Mark I can't help - but can I suggest that next time you put enough detail in your question to increase the chance that you MIGHT get help. 1) "my grandfather" - what's his name? 2) "who died in WWII" - When, Where, How - if you know any of that. 3) "He was in the navy" - if you knew any ship(s) he was on that might be a BIG help - and if you do, mention them. Don't want to nitpick - there's not much activity on this list, and one reason may be there are hardly ever any questions that can be answered usefully, and rarely any information posted - if there are answers they must be being sent privately. Good lists are very useful - it would be nice to see this become one. Bert
