    1. [WASHINGTON-L] Seattle Obituary 1929-30?
    2. Hi, I would like to know if anyone does Seattle newspaper lookups or if anyone can tell me who to contact for such info.? My great-granduncle, James Nathaniel Brooks (or Nat Brooks), died December 10, 1929 in Port Townsend, Jefferson County, Washington and was buried there. He was a Merchant Marine Ship's Cook and a former goldminer. He was born in 1863. He place of residence was listed as Seattle on his death certificate. He was married to Georgia Phifer in Colorado or Nebraska around 1910 or so. He had a daughter from a previous marriage and Georgia had a son from a previous marriage. They all moved to Seattle, Washington by 1920. Georgia and James were later divorced sometimes during the 1920's. I am trying to locate information and the whereabouts of his daughter at the time. His death certificate didn't offer any information. I'm hoping that maybe an obituary was written for him in the Seattle newspaper that might say. There was no obituary in the Port Townsend newspaper. It may have taken awhile for the news of his death to reach Seattle, but sometimes after December 10, 1929, he could be listed. At least, I hope so. If anyone can help me, I'd appreciate it very much. Thanks. Duston Brooks
