    1. [WASHINGTON-L] Daughters of the Pioneers
    2. My Grandma was a member of the Daughters of the Pioneers Seattle chapter for many years. She gave my sister and I jr. memberships when we were little, and I still get the yearly membership guide and annual report. Grandma always went to the meetings, and is well remembered there. As far as I could ever tell, they do research and the meetings were social occasions for Grandma. They have a scholarship for those majoring in history, and they have an annual meeting each year. Edith Johnson is the contact for the Seattle Chapter, and it is down in Madison Park. I don't have the number here with me, but I will see if I can find it and post it later. The applications for membership can be useful, you must prove your ancestors were pioneers, so the documentation is also with the application. I got my Grandmothers application for membership, which included the obituary for my great great grandfather and his father, so they can be a source of information. Best Regards, Patrice Shinabarger Seattle, WA
