Every one was shocked and grieved when the news reached Bickleton Wednesday, says the News, that Miss Gertrude Crofutt, post master at Kuhn, had died very suddenly the previous night of heart failure. Miss Crofutt was 29 years of age and had never been a robust lady but the news of her death was a snrprise to all. (note: misspelling of “surprise” as printed in newspaper)
