Washington may require you to state what relationship who are you are with in regards to the deceased but I know I have gotten them without stating that. Also, in case some of you didn't know -- Tacoma Public Library has a database of obits online that you can order. They claim you need to be a resident of Washington for it to be free and outside of Washington I believe it is $3. I know one month it was free either way and then when I checked the next month they wanted to charge $3. [The obits I got weren't even for my family as it turned out :-( ] -- I just looked, it is now up to $5 per records.. sheeeeeeesh!!! What I did is put my name on it and sent it to my Aunts address (who lives in Washington) and she forwarded it to me.
