Shelby R. Madden, died 8 Dec 1968 in Pierce County. His obituary was posted in the Tacoma News Tribune on 9 Dec 1968, page C-17. You can order the obit via the Tacoma Library http://search.tpl.lib.wa.us/obits/, or SKS may make a copy of the microfilm at the library. Per the Washington State Death Index, Shelby Madden died 19 Oct 1972 in Tacoma. There is no obituary identified in the library database; however, one could have been published in the days following his death. In the Social Security Death Index he was shown as being born on 10 Oct 1915. All I could find.
