Your first posting indicated his name was Corduis, now it is Cordes. Spelling is EVERYTHING in genealogy. You mispell a name and they may not ever be found. You must start at the local level and get ALL information and then move out to further locations. I checked the Tacoma Library Obituary listing "http://search.tpl.lib.wa.us/obits/" and find Walter C. Connelly, died in Tacoma, WA, on 9 July 1985. His obituary is listed on page B-13, on 11 July 1985 in the Tacoma Tribune (newspaper). That obituary can help, it just needs to be obtained via the microfilm at the Tacoma Library. You can do that from the website, or perhaps someone will download it for you at the library. The Social Security Death Index identifies that Walter was born 9 April 1922. If you are looking for information on his parents, the Social Security Number application will show his parents information and other information on where he was when he applied. His number 024-16-7056 was issued in MA. His Zip code where the last death benefit check was issued was 98444, not to far from me at 98443. There was no listing for Mildred in the library list, so from 1985, she may have remarried or moved. The 1930 US Census showed a Walter C. Connelly born in Massachusettes to Maurice Connelly 61 and Lillian P 45. Maurice was born in the Irish Free State, Lillian in MA to parents from Ireland. Siblings were Lillian P 11, Frank W. 9, Clara L 5 and Karl 1 year 5/12. They were living in Smith Hadley Falls, Hampshire County, MA. Is this the right family? The Pierce County auditor, county recorder showed two documents filed by Walter Cordes Connelly. One was a repayment of mortgage to McChord Credit Union. The other was a power of attorney to Katherine Louise Connelly. There are 7 documents in her name, two involve deeds to Lester W. McKim in 1986. One was an assigned deed of trust in 1998 and one in 2001 was a full payment for loan in 2001. I checked for obituary for Katherine L. Connelly and found none. There was a Katherine Williams Connelly, death 29 Dec 1997, obituary on 31 Dec 1997, page B-3. Katherine could be his wife or a daughter, or even the wife of a son.
