Maxwell Denchel immigrated from the Alsace Lorraine area, which was probably German territory at the time. He had two sons, Ralph(m.Grace) and Walter (m.Berta Hoppe). My father Thomas Walter Denchel is Max's great grandson. Most of the death and marriage records can be found on-line. The Denchel and Hoppe families are recorded in Wisconsin. If I can find out which county I will write back. Thank you for the information.
