Patience: This is actually the line of Samuel Davis, an elder brother of Pres. Jefferson Davis, late of Civil War fame. This Davis line begins in Kentucky and ends at Rosemont Plantation, Woodville, Mississippi. There is also Keary, a Davis allied family in Louisiana. As well as, the family of Benjamin T. Davis late of Jacksonville, Oregon and the Boise Basin in Idaho. In consideration of your time frame (1833) my first question would be - was your Amanda Davis a Southern lady?
