    3. Dear All, I have a copy of the obituary!! Thank you, thank you, Bud!! I hope you will take time to read this message. I am absolutely speechless from the offers of help in finding the obituary for this gentleman. As an adopted person, genealogy is quite dear to me. I am 51 years old and at the age of 48 I finally found my father's family. Last year I was able to meet my first cousins spread out from CA>UT>CO>MO>IL>OH> IA>NE. It was a wonderful feeling. The gentleman who is noted herein did me such a favor by sending a query in 1979 within which were invaluable clues to further putting my family line together. It was only last week that I found the query at Yates Publishing. As I noted previously, from the wording of the query one can tell this gentleman was reciting verbal history and had a great desire to "find" his family. I can only pray that he was as lucky as I have been. I will make sure that his surviving family is made aware of his contribution to "our" family history. I would also like to tell you what pride I have in the Northwest. I am born and raised in southern Oregon and am very proud of my roots. While I understand that the people responding to my request for help could be from anywhere originally, I think we can all agree that there is a special feeling about the NW "attitude". My encounters with genealogy researchers across the nation has been wonderful, but the response from the NW just seemed a bit more special. This is the first time since I started my search for my father's family that I have been able to turn to the NW for help. As expected, the response was warm, understanding, and QUICK!! Again, thanks to everyone that responded. What a wonderful, wonderful feeling it is to have assistance like this, and at a time when I was very much "in a hurry" for an answer. Please be assured that in the past, and in the future, I have and will lend a helping hand. All of you have touched me deeply and I am very thankful. With utmost sincerity, Richard Sergeant (lobosolo@halcyon.com) Seattle, WA Researching: Sharp, Yates, Sexton, Pointer, Johnson, Coffey, Estes, Manker, Skaggs, Ausmus, and many others.
