    1. [WASHINGTON-L] Spokane Murder.
    2. Hello Washington List Members: Here's a challenge for those interested in Spokane stories. Back about 1943-1946, when I was a baby in a crib, and my father was a young, gung-ho Army officer, he came home one day to discover a lumberjack in bed with my mother! That's what I've been told, folks! Well, it seems this lumberjack proceeded to jump my dad with a knife, a fight ensued, and dad killed the lumberjack in "defense of home and hearth, etc.". He was subsequently acquitted of the murder. I was told years ago that there was a local trial, community members took sides, there were newspaper stories that closely followed the trial, etc. So, if anybody can prove, or disprove any of this story for me, please do! Thanks, Karen
