To get the Birth certificate you need to know where he was born so you need to find him on the 1920 or 1930 census which will tell you where he was born and may give you his fathers name and place of birth if they were in the same household.

I do not have his actual birth certificate, but can get a death cert. Do you think we can trace from that? I was told that either his dad or his grandfather ran away from home because it was a house full of women. But this is just a story. I know that they lived in Duval Washington for a while.

It should give you his father's name. Have you found your father at the 1920 Census? that should give you an age and place of birth for your grandparents. It is a very unusual surname and I am 95% sure that you are related to the Skittrells from England

My Father was Edward Harold Skittrall, married Frances Kathryn Kjerulf. His mother was Frances Evelyn George. She married a Skittrall and Had my dad (Edward) and his sister (Floss), but I only knew Gramma, apparently grampa died or left the family early. Dad never knew his father. I do have dates of death and birth for gramma and dad. I am stuck.

Thank you for your help, Diane > > When you are requesting genealogy information; you HAVE to be specific as to what you have, First names are important. Otherwise, you put the researcher at much extra work, and you receive a lot of worthless information. There are 37 Mackay's in Washington, mostly in Seattle, in the 1910 census. There are 131 in the Washington Death Index between 1940-1996. The WA State Birth Index has 37 Mackay births listed. The Soldiers of WW I identifies a Lieutenant William R. MacKay.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/CCC.2ACE/2946.1.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: I am researching the Surname Skittrell and all it’s various spellings. I have a database of almost 2000 people most of whom are descended from one of three families. Two around South London at the end of the 18th Century and one in Burbage Wiltshire at the beginning of the 18th century. I also have a number of individuals in London & Wiltshire between 1598 and 1780 who are probably connected but who I have as yet been unable to link up. I have found the marriage of a Jack Skittrall to an Irene Lambert in Vancouver in 1926. Could he be the same Jack who was in Seatle in 1930? I also have a possible birth in England for the Job Ronald found on the 1930 Census. Let me know what you have and I will see what I can link up

Yes, I was able to locate my BIO Brother, Larry Grant. Unfortunately, I found out that he was deceased. Strange thing though, his Mother's name is Jeanie. This Jeanie is still living and I did get to speak with her. As far as locating my Birth Parents, I was able to find out that my BIO Father is deceased. However, My BIO Mother, Four wonderful Sisters, and three Brothers are still living. I have been able to meet my BIO Father's only living relative, his Sister and My "Aunt Cookie: )" We have become very close and speak often and have also met in person several times. My BIO Mother is so sweet, kind, caring, and sensitive. An absolutely wonderful person! I have had the pleasure of meeting with her several times and we do have a very nice relationship. Since I live in OK and she WA State, it makes for a long distance relationship. As far as my Sisters are concerned, It is as if I had known them my entire life. We stay in constant communica! tion and visit one another as often as possible. We are all very scattered with me in OK, my oldest Sister in Michigan, next Sister in Alabama, middle Sister in California, next to the youngest Sister in Washington State. I have also been able to meet one of my Brothers, he is the youngest and he and his wife are absolutely adorable along with their new additions to the family. My other two BIO Brothers, I have only met over the phone but hope to meet them in person soon. They sound as sweet as my baby Brother. This has been one of the most rewarding events in my life. I wish that everyone could have such a happy reunion with their BIO Families. Thank you for inquiring, Kim PS: All of my BIO Sisters, Mother, and My Aunt Cookie were able to come to OKlahoma in Feb of 2004 for my wedding. Along with my family that adopted me at birth. It was WONDERFUL!!!!!!! I feel so blessed to have such a HUGE Loving Family!!!

I do not know if Etta is married now or not. But I dont' know where she died, or how and when. She was the youngest child and was probably born around 1920 give or take a few years. I had never met her. She died when I was a small child. I do know that she was dead when her brother Charlie (my granfather died) in 1980. Sorry I cant provide more. Thanks again for your reply.
