    3. Ron, thank you. Sorry I didn't make myself clear in my posting. Alice E. married George W. Hass before 1910. As you have shown, she did not remarry. Appreciate the information. Sharolyn

    3. ----- Original Message ----- From: Sharolyn McCoy > Does Washington have a statewide marriage index? > I live in Oklahoma and need help with a marriage for Alice Hass, born > 1889. She would have married after 1934 and before 1960. She was last > seen in Seattle when her husband George W. Hass passed away. I presume a > second marriage. > She had ... a son, Byrd J. Hass, born 1910. > Without this information, I do not know how to look for her death/burial. Your info is confusing and missing information. I'm "assuming" she married George W. Hass along time before 1934, perhaps before the birth of her children. Are you seeking if she RE-married between 1934 and 1960? "She was last seen in Seattle when her husband George passed away". Was this in 1960? or, in 1934. When did he die? Who last saw her in Seattle? Was the couple divorced? Probably, but when? Was 1934 the year of divorce? Anyway, for the future remember to put in all of your information. And DON'T assume. In this case, you are assuming a second marriage...but: I did find Byrd J. Hass, he died 18 Sep 1987 in Eatonville, Pierce County, WA, per the Social Security Death Index. The WA State Death Index indicated he died in Seattle. In the 1930 census, he was living with George and Alice E. Hass in Grand Mound, Thurston County, WA. So...Alice's middle name began with an "E". Looking in the Tacoma Library obituary listings http://search.tpl.lib.wa.us/obits/, under the name of HASS, I find: Byrd J, death 18 Sep 1987, obituary posted on page P.B-3 in the Tacoma Tribune published 23 Sep 1987. George G, death 17 Jan 1985, obit on page B-15 published in the Tribune on 18 January 1985. But, since you said his name was George W. This may not be him. ALSO, Alice Elizabeth Hass, Date of Death 20 November 1961, obit in the Tribune on 21 Nov 1961, page 22. So, it appears that she died in 1961. You can order the obits via the above URL, or someone that visits the Tacoma Library regularily can copy the microfilm pages. If this occurs, you should pay the researcher an equivilant amount of payment or at least a thanks. Ron Bestrom

    3. Does Washington have a statewide marriage index? I live in Oklahoma and need help with a marriage for Alice Hass, born 1889. She would have married after 1934 and before 1960. She was last seen in Seattle when her husband George W. Hass passed away. I presume a second marriage. She had a daughter Dora B. Hass born 1907 and a son, Byrd J. Hass, born 1910. Thanks for any suggestions as to how I can find out when/or if Alice remarried. Without this information, I do not know how to look for her death/burial. Thank you. Sharolyn McCoy Miami, Ottawa Co. 3. The Statewide Index for Marriage and Divorce starts in 1968. Before 1968 you have to get them at the county courthouse. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sharolyn McCoy" <Sharolyn@webtv.net> To: <WASHINGTON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, March 12, 2005 6:13 PM Subject: [WA-L] Statewide Washington Marriage Index? > Does Washington have a statewide marriage index? > > I live in Oklahoma and need help with a marriage for Alice Hass, born > 1889. Here's some info: Evelyn Oliver Mobeck was born on Feb. 27, 1909 In McHenry, ND and died in June 1981 in Wahiawa, Honolulu, Hawaii. Loran Rood was born in McIntosh, MN in Oct. 1898 and died in ND in 1938. (Just learned this information.) In addition to finding out if Evelyn Oliver Mobeck has any decendants, I would really like to find out where my other great-uncle, Arnold Rood is buried. Last we heard is that he was living in Washington state or Alaska, and that he had a wife named Doretha (sp?). Arnold was born November 10, 1902 in McHenry, ND. Thank you!

    3. I'm hoping that someone with any source, such as, ancestry.com, heritage quest, genealogy.com, a subscription to a Seattle newspaper (online) or another source, will be able to help me either find Ralph Mock or an obituary for him. I no longer have ancestry.com but I did go there this a.m. to see what was available. There are obituaries for Ralph Mock, but I can't access them to see if they are my Ralph Mock or even the SSDI....: - ( Here is what I know: Ralph Clifford Mock was born June 23, 1917 in North Dakota. He married Luella A. Swenson in June 1938 but I don't know where. Ralph and Luella had two children (girls), Arline and Judy, which should survive Ralph in an obituary. Luella passed away in December 1994 in Seattle (actually Edmonds, Snomish, WA). To be honest, I don't even know if Ralph preceeded Luella in death. I keep running into roadblocks. I would appreciate any assistance that ya'all are willing to share...... Cathie

    3. Home, sweet QUIET home!!! My nieces are okay; the soon-to-be-ex-husband ran away another state. She has a restraining order, he is off the apartment lease, and she is filing for divorce. She also signed up for a work search program through DSHS, which she starts a week from the coming Monday (that's to give her time to find a daycare for the girls). Everything is coming together for her and the entire family is very supportive. Please go back to using my primary email address: maples1@hctc.com. I forgot to take the laptop so I have more than 300 emails to catch up on. If you wrote me privately any time since Sunday, I should be repyling before Mr. Sandman visits tonight. Thank you so much for all the prayers - they really have made a difference!! shirley :) -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. 3. Researchers; It is true , so many places are not free anymore. Many places are switching to give me money. I am also finding that many places now are asking for MONEY to use or see their sites even for a credit card number to get 2 weeks free trial.. Pretty soon it won't be any more free info sites for Genealogy. I wonder where the Genealogy searchers will go then???? Even free info for anyone is being put into PAY ME NOW or 2 free weeks trial then they take your money from a "forced give me credit card number" for the 2 weeks free trial , and no return. It is awful, that so many free sites are wanting to grab your money. Highway robber's must be the theme now.
