    3. Please understand that all message appears on the list at the same time for me as for anyone else. The only way around this is for me to moderate the list, which means I would have to preview and then forward all messages. That is time-consuming and for the most part unnecessary. It is a choice invoked by listowners on rare occasions, generally due to flaming or hostility on the list. I agree the message had no place on our list. I am as disgusted as everyone else that it appeared. As I wrote a few minutes ago, I have placed that email address on reject for this list, so no more messages from it should come through. However, people who spread such garbage are sneaky and usually use a variety of email addresses to get around this. shirley list hostess Will wrote: > How did this message with the message at bottom get by the list hostess of > this site??? I can stop ALL posts from the board but the majority are legitimate and for that reason I won't halt messages from the board. shirley list hostess -- No virus found in this outgoing message. 3. I am just as disgusted with these messages as anyone else. As has been pointed out, they are posted to the board for Washington, then show up on the list because the board is gatewayed to it. The only thing I can do to stop it is either (1) stop all posts from the board or (2) put the offending email address on reject for the list (which I do). shirley list hostess -- No virus found in this outgoing message. 3. The original message was posted to the message boards at ANCESTRY.com... Any messages posted to the message boards are automatically forwarded/gatewayed to a related mailing list. The mailing list hostess doesn't see those messages forwarded from the message boards and there is no way to stop them as the message boards and mailing lists are hosted by Ancestry.com I know it's annoying to get "stupid" commercial messages from a genealogy site and I guarantee that Ancestry and it's parent company hates it... 3. I'VE LOST ALL MY EMAIL EXCEPT WHAT I DOWNLOADED TODAY. I'm just sick over this. Of course, it wasn't backed up on a disc. All my genealogy, everything that was saved mail is GONE. Just got off the phone with a friend and computer guru who tried to help me find the files - they are gone. If you've sent me something recently - especially genealogy info (attn Judy & Winnie & Tom!!!) - please resend it. Thanks. shirley :( -- No virus found in this outgoing message.
