    2. Bless you. Hope this doesn`t offend you but you can`t imagine how much this will mean to our friend here in Decatur, Al. His father was probably a farm laborer and may have been in prison somewhere in the west at one time. So I would say he was probably doing construction or odd jobs at the OTI devel. I tried to figure the OTI out but was "barking" up a wrong tree. I`ll go back now and digest this info. I had not found a marriage record for his mother and thought she may not have married so the divorce record is a great help. I`ll go to Limestone Co. right away and work some more on his line. He, Jimmy Webster, is an interesting character and was asked at his father`s funeral in 1979 by "two very old women from N. C." Do you know that you are Indian?" Jimmy said Well, yes,; I`ve heard that" They then said "No, we mean Do you KNOW (emphasis) that you are Indian") Jimmy has a llittle trouble reading these old records and I love to help people with their lines; I have done this for myself and others for over 40 years. There are many people in our area who are at least a 1/16 NA but can`t prove it because it was hidden due to the fact that Indians here could not buy or own property after 1835. I am also working on my beautiful little grand daughter`s lines who are definitely NA on several lineS in Cherokee co. Al. this is so exciting for an "old" genealogist. Thank you so much again. Webster, age 30, father of 6, 3 living: Ervin G, age 8 Bessie M, age 6 Husie? D. son age 5 Martha J. Webster, 69, mother, mother of 5, 3 living. World War I Draft Registration Card image shows Robert Carner Webster, born May 7, 1878, living with his nearest relative, Martha Jane Webster. He identified himself as white, although there was a box for Indian. He was living in Madison County, Route 7. The city was Pisson/Prison. So, it doesn't look like Webster is where Indian blood came from. I looked at the image for the divorce between Oliver R and Catherine C. There were 5 columns following their names. 42 7 51 10 4702. I originally thought the first two was date of marriage, the next two as date of divorce...but looking at others, I see 62 12 51 18 8709...so my guess wasn't right. The first page of the "A" last names identified that it was a Combined Divorce Listing, the first two columns for 1950, the next two for 1951, and the last for 1952. So, it appears their divorce was in Oct 1951. That might help you in finding court records. The database indicated: " Description: This database is an index to approximately 105,000 divorces that were filed in Alabama from 1950-1959. Information that may be found in this database includes: a.. Husband's name b.. Wife's name c.. Divorce date d.. Divorce county It is important that you use the information found in this database to locate your relative in the original records that this index references. Usually more information is available in the records themselves than is found in an index. For example, divorce records may list marriage information, birth information, or the cause for divorce in addition to the information provided in this index. About all I can find. I found a number of Roland Webster' but only the below matches criteria given. The Washington Death Index has an Oliver R. Webster, died 3 March 1979 in Okanogan at age 54 (born circa 1924/1925). His Social Security Number was 416-24-2302, (issued in Alabama based on the first three numbers). You can obtain his application for his SSN through the Social Security Administration. It would identify his employment (if any at the time of application), his parents, date of birth, etc. The 1930 census for Quid Nune, Limestone County, AL, shows: Robert Webster, 51, born in Tennessee to both parents born in Tennessee, a farmer Nora K, age 45, born in TN to both parents born in TN. Bessie, 19 Clara M, 9 Oliver R, 6, all children born in Alabama. All were identified as being "W" White, if Indian it would have been "I". Alabama Divorce Index shows an Oliver R. Webster divorce from Catherine C. Webster July 1951 in Limestone, AL. So, if this person was an OTI, he could have been employed by the OTI Kaga for housing purposes. Okanogan is at the Colville Indian Reservation. But, I don't see why they would have been there, unless he was a representative and was only there for giving advice on setting up there own system? 1. James A. 'Jim' Casner/Carsner (born circa 12-1839 MO)
    2. Elizabeth Freeman
    3. I am searching for information on James A. "Jim' Casner/Carsner who was born circa 12-1839 in MO. He was one of 11 sons of Henry Casner and Jincy Jane (Fields) Casner. Henry & Jincy lived intermittnetly between MO and IA (between 1822 and 1852). Henry died in 1847 in IA. In 1852 Jincy Jane Casner migrated to OR with seven of her twelve children. It occurred to me that after having lived in OR for about 30 years, he may have gone into Washington (one of his brothers lived in WA for a number of years). I have pretty well documented what became of all the children with the exception of James A. 'Jim" Casner/Carsner and one brother. The name is spelled both ways (often spelled both ways on one document). Most descendants of Jinch Jane Casner who remained in the Pacific Northwest generally spelled the name CARSNER by 1900. James Casner signed DLCs in 1864 in Linn County, OR as a witness. I have a copy of a court minute where on 3-29-1865 in Linn County OR an indictment for murder against him was dismissed (also have a copy of a newspaper clipping about this). Between 1-18-1856 and 6-21-1856 he served in Company B, 2nd recruiting battalion during the Indian Wars in OR. On 5-19-1858 in Linn County, OR he married Clementine Hayworth. On 12-1-1883 in Grant County, OR he married Sarah R. Olney. I do not know if he had children with either wife. I do not know what became of the two wives. I would like to make contact with anyone who can shed some light on what became of these three people.

    1. EVAs in the 1800s: Sheba Reed Eva and Josiah Eva
    2. Craig Johnson
    3. I'm researching a particular branch of the EVA family (primarily based in Cornwall), and it seems that two brothers Sheba Reed EVA (b1862, Wendron, Cornwall) and Josiah Eva (b1850, Wendron, Cornwall) immigrated to the New England states around 1883 and 1877 respectively. Sheba is mentioned in the "History of North Washington 1904" and seems to have settled in WA, while Josiah seems to have settled in Gardner, Worcester, MA... but that is about all the information I have after the brothers left England. I'd really appreciate any help locating information on these two brothers, and will gladly share my research. In particular, if anyone has had recent contact with Marilyn Eva I'd dearly like her contact details. Her research will be invaluable! 1. Anderson-Englund-Lehman Mich>Wash 1880>1920
    2. Hello fellow posters: I am looking for connections to a Kenneth Lehman family - which included members named Karl & Johanna (Englund) Anderson ( who married in Osceola County Michigan 1884). I believe Karl was a commercial fisherman who did a lot of fishing in Alaskan waters. I believe the Anderson-Englunds moved from Michigan to Seattle, Washington and were there in 1937, when known relatives visited. Johanna had been dead some years by 1937, but their children were Edwin & wife Hilda, and Edwin's son Lenny. Johanna is my link to this family, I have been searching for years and as yet can not find anyone who makes the connection.  Do you have any of these people in your records? The following family connects to the one above also, but not sure how. I've been told that a Mrs. Lehman, lived by Lake Washington in a town called Kirkland.  She later moved to Seattle.  Their son Kenneth was signed by the Brooklyn Dodgers in his late teens, and had a sibling named Leslie. Possibly this Mrs. Lehman is Daisy (had a brother named Edward/Edwin) Mattson. I think Daisy Mattson married someone name Lehman, and thier son was the Kenneth Lehman who played for the Dodgers. Here is hoping someone will recognize these names and be able to connect them! Thanks for looking. Kris (Johnson) Burrill Michigan P.S. My grandmother was Hulda Englund who was a sister to Johanna Englund.

    3. Hi Shirley, Thank you very much for looking that up for me ! Another researcher was able to find that both Mrs. Margaret KERR and Mrs. Sarah KERR died during the 1920's ! But, Robert KERR lived a long life, dying in 1950 at Age 88. But, so far, Joseph KERR's death record has not been found. So, I will write a letter to the Everett Public Library next week and ask if they can find the death-notices for me. Perhaps Joseph died in the 1920's, also ! Or, perhaps after he lost his wife, he moved out of state ! (Lots of things to consider !) Enjoy your weekend ! Hi list, the above site has recently been updated with various records covering Settlement,Bastardy,Apprentice,Removal etc. Derbyshire based it contains many names of folks from other counties who for one reason or another had a connection ,however tenuous with Derbyshire. It may be you have no Derbyshire connections, I expect most of you will not have, however a lot of you will have English ancestors and the above site will give you an idea of just what may be found in certain documents in English Record Offices. And you never know what you may find. It may just be your lost Uncle Jack is here. ! Yesterday Journey located at; http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~spire/Yesterday/index.htm mike

    1. KERR, brothers, Robert, Joseph, 1900-1940 in Everett
    2. Betty
    3. Hello, I joined the Snohomish County List a few years ago and posted queries, but I seem to have not joined this List at the same time. So, I would like to post now my query about two KERR brothers who left Everett, MA, between 1900 and 1910 to move to Everett, WA ! The 1900 Census has Robert KERR, 37?, and his wife, Marguerite "Maggie" ______, living in Everett, MA. I cannot find Joseph KERR, 32, and his wife, Sarah "Sadie" _____ in MA. The 1910 Census has both couples living in Everett, WA, and they are living in the same home. The 1920 Census has both couples living in Everett, WA, and they are living in the same home. I do not have access to the 1930 Census, and I do not know when they died. In 1920, they were in their 50's. Neither couple ever had children ! And, I believe they worked in the Lumber industry ! I was wondering if there was a way to find out when the brothers died ! And, if I could find out when they died, would I be able to write a letter to the Everett Library and request an obituary for them ? Thank you for your time. Betty (near Lowell, MA) FYI: A little background information is: Brothers, Robert and Joseph KERR, were born in the 1860's in Quebec Province, Canada. They were the youngest of 5 children of Robert and Elizabeth (HENDERSON) KERR of Argenteuil County, Quebec. Around 1870, the family moved to Compton County, Quebec. Around 1874, the oldest son, William KERR, moved to Boston, MA. In 1876, he married Elizabeth HANNAH in Malden, MA, and they raised children in Everett, MA. In 1879, William's sister, Mary Anna KERR, came down to live with them. A few years later, Mary KERR married William McINNES. There was another sister, Hannah Jane KERR, but I can't find her as an adult. She either died young, or she married in Quebec Province and remained living there. In 1886, Robert and Joseph KERR came down to Boston, MA. There is a good chance that the parents, William and Elizabeth KERR, came down with them, as they died in Everett, MA, in 1902 and 1904. As for the wives of Robert and Joseph, the Census information shows they were born in Canada/English and immigrated in 1873, and their parents had been born in Scotland. So, I'm thinking that Marguerite and Sarah were sisters and possibly "under 10" when their family left Nova Scotia and came down to MA. I believe the couples married in or near Everett, MA, in 1888 and 1890.
