    3. Hi George, From the WASHINGTON-L I read your post: >I am a descendent of the following families of the 2nd Germanna >immigration: > >BROYLES/BRILES >WILHITE/WILHITE >FLESHMAN/FLEISCHMAN (g-g-g-g--grandmother) >KLUG >LONGMIRE > >Hope you are subscribed to the GERMANNA_COLONIES List. >Lots of good information there on the Germanna immigrants, >both from the 1st and 2nd immigrations. I can find a German American list but not GERMANA_COLONIES. Please tell me how to subscribe to the GERMANA-COLONIES List. I am doing some digging on the name LONGMIRE and that is what caught my eye. I have downloaded a whole bunch of information on Germana and am reading it but so far (there is a great deal of it) I have not come on the name Longmire. The Longmires that I am interested in are the descendants of James Longmire, born Indiana and moved to Washington Territory in about 1850 something. First time I can find them in the Census is Washingon, Thurston County, 1860. Anne

    1. WA Archives now fully searchable at mirror site
    2. Kevin Fraley
    3. Hello all, I ran into Doc Schneider in Genealogy chat last evening and we had a great talk back and forth. I happened to mention that Washington was still waiting for its Archives search engine on his mirror site at dsenter.com. He excused himself for a few minutes, then came back and proudly informed me that the Washington search engine had just been made operational. I was too tired last night to check but sure enough it is humming along there today. The search engine for the Washington Archives is at http://www.usgenweb.com/archives/waindex.html and if you want other states (not all yet) go to http://www.usgenweb.com/archives County coordinators, I strongly urge you to put up a link to the WA search engine on your pages, as well as a link to the Archives themselves for those few counties that have not yet done so. Everybody should spread the word to lists, friends, societies, etc. that this long-awaited day has now arrived. We are now fully searchable. Thank you, Kevin Fraley WA GenWeb Archives

    1. 1850 Oregon Territory Census to go online
    2. Kevin Fraley
    3. Hello, Just a note to update you on the progress of the effort to put the complete 1850 Federal Census of Oregon Territory online for the free use of all. Of the 10 counties in Oregon Territory that year, the complete returns of 2 counties are already online, 6 more are currently being worked on by volunteers, and only Clatsop and Washington Counties remain available. This is a project of US GenWeb, and the finished product will be stored in the US GenWeb Archives, and also in the Oregon and Washington State Archives, if they wish copies. Further information on the US GenWeb Census Project is available at http://www.usgenweb.com/census/census.htm If anyone wishes to volunteer to transcribe the Clatsop or Washington County returns (they are quite small, especially Clatsop), please go to the address above or contact me directly. I would be happy to answer any questions. Thank you, Kevin Fraley (swimref@cmc.net) Assistant National Coordinator, US GenWeb Census Project

    3. Cornelius Campion, born in New Zealand arrived in Seattle circa 1900. He married a Jeannie WHEAT there and they had at least two children, one of which was a son named Cornelius. Cornelius the elder worked we are told for the Seattle Port Authority, possibly as a pilot. He died in March 1935. There are Campions in the Seattle area. 1. 1850 WA Census completed and online
    2. Kevin Fraley
    3. Hello, The transcription of the complete 1850 federal census of what is now Washington is finished and online. There were two counties in existence that year, Lewis, and Clark, together they covered all parts of the future state then settled. The transcriptions of the census returns are in two separate files, by county, and can be found at the Washington Census Project at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/wa/wacensus.htm or through the Washington section of the US GenWeb Archives at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/wa/wafiles.htm These transcriptions are complete in every way, with no columns or data of any kind omitted. Great care has been taken to ensure accuracy, so as to best serve the needs of the researcher. Search engine capability is being readied at this time for use with these files. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have about this project. Thank you, Kevin Fraley (swimref@cmc.net) NOTE NEW ADDRESS Coordinator, Washington Census Project Assistant National Coordinator, US GenWeb Census Project Washington Manager, US GenWeb Archives

    1. Quinn family
    2. D.W. "Donnie" Walk, Jr.
    3. I am submitting this query on behalf of a good friend (Steve) who is searching for his grandmother and/or her family. The following information is all that he knows. His grandmother's name was Erma Orean Quinn Lucas, born in Tacoma, WA around 1906 or 1907. She was the daughter of Thomas W. Quinn (d. 31 Jul 1935) and Emma A. Quinn (d. 2 Apr 1937). Her parents are both buried at the Shelton Cemetery in Tacoma. Erma had a brother, Thomas L. Quinn, who lived in King Co. (Renton) WA. He died on 5 Nov 1958 and is buried at the Greedwood Cemetery in Renton. As far as Steve knows, he never married or had children. Erma was married to Media Willard Lucas and was divorced from him in Tazewell Co., VA in April, 1934. Steve's mother was just a small child and never again heard from her mother. The last anyone heard from Erma, she was living in the San Jose, CA area (Santa Clara Co.) in 1950. If anyone has any information on this family or any suggestions as to how to locate Erma and/or her descendants, please e-mail me at pamwalk@netscope.net. I will be glad to pass the information on to Steve. Please e-mail me privately as I do not subscribe to this list. Thanks in advance -- please help Steve find out about his grandmother--his mother is still living! Pam
