    3. The State only has records from 1907, prior to that time you will need to contact the County. Address your request to the County Auditor, __________Court House, City, State & zip code. There are places on the 'net with the costs, addresses, etc., if you need that information I can look it up, but it's locked away on my other hard drive, waiting for me change it over I guess. I got a transcribed copy of my gg grandfather's death certificate from the Pierce Co. Courthouse (he died in 1894) fairly easily, by going in person when we happened to be there. This was 20 or more years ago, hopefully it's still as easy to do. Good luck Alice Allen dcaallen@pacifier.com ------- USGenWeb County Coordinator for: Marshall Co. 3. Does anyone know anything about a lynching in Ellensburg ca. 1893; my grandmother came across two men hanging on her way to Sunday School, age 4-5. Needless to say, it made an impression. I will be checking the newspaper, but just wondered if anyone knows of other sources for such info. It was for cattle and horse theft. 3. I did not subscribe to all the lists I am posting this message to. Therefore, I thank you in advance for replying privately. ------- Good evening! I am writing to you from Belgium, Europe Since April 1994, I am doing research on the emigrants from the Waasland, an area in Flanders, Belgium, west of Antwerp, to the United States and Canada between 1830 - 1950. En route I am also helping out any other Belgian descendant in North America looking for her/his Roots here. At present I have identified some 2,500 emigrants from the Waasland, but I have information on tens of thousands of Belgian emigrants. My web site at http://www.ping.be/picavet/ contains much more information, including: + thousands of NAMES of Belgian emigrants; + hundreds of passenger SHIPS (mainly from Antwerp); + a complete list of all PLACES in Belgium with their districts, province, ZIP-code,telephone area code, and not unimportant in Belgium: the official language; + TRANSLATIONS of vital records from Dutch in English; + a complete GUIDE on how to look for your Belgian roots; + some HISTORY of Belgium, Flanders, and the Waasland; + a list of hundreds of US ARMY UNITS and thousands of surnames of AMERICAN SOLDIERS decorated by Belgium after WW2; + articles about GENEALOGY, GENEOLOGY, and ANDRAGOGY. Please do contact me if you are a Belgian descendant, or if you know of Belgian immigrants or their descendants in your area. I do need any help I can get! If you have Belgian descendants in your area, I would be extremely grateful if you could make a link from your web site to mine. 3. I am trying to find the family of Robert John and Lavina DUNCAN They are my maternal Grandfather and Grandmother. According to a recorded tape made many years ago this couple left Ontario, Canada in 1898, came west, and settled in Washington. I have narrowed the search to Hamilton, Acme and Sedro Wooley and surrounding areas for the time period from 1898 to 1908. What would be the best way to track down this family. Are there City Directories available? Four children were born in Washington. They are Mary Elizabeth DUNCAN, Francis Viola DUNCAN, Lavina May DUNCAN and Robert John DUNCAN. Is there a grave yard near Acme? I am told to get to it one must cross over a set of rail road tracks and go up a hill. I have a picture of the stone (has a small lamb on top) for Frances V DUNCAN. The picture was taken some 45 years ago (I am in the picture as a child) and the dates are hard to read. Does anyone live close by this area or knows of this grave yard and can email me the information from the stone. One of the reasons my Grandparents came to Washington is Grandfather had relatives living in this area. I found two of my grandfather's cousins buried in Bellingham. 1. Elizabeth Isabelle DUNCAN, 1885 - 1947. 2. Robert A. DUNCAN, 1888 - 1967. I have not found their sister or parents. 1. Mary Ann DUNCAN, 1887 - 1919. May have gone to Idaho 2. Robert and Mary (PERRY) DUNCAN. May have gone to California. If you are related to this family or know members of this family please email me direct. Sorry about the length of this message. Thank You. Dan Dobson British Columbia, Canada ddobson@direct.ca
