Hello: Is it possible to find out if a grave exists in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Seattle. My grandmother is buried next to her 2nd husband, but no one in the family has any idea of when he was born or died. Her name was Ethel Mildred (Black) Fry, born 23 Jul 1890, died 5 Aug 1977; buried 9 Aug 1977. Her husbands name was Richard Fry. If anyone has any suggestions or information, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Lynton Stewart lstewart@pacbell.net San Diego County, CA

Your grandparents are buried in the cemetery and they do have the records on both of them. They will not tell me any more than that because I am not immediate family. Mr. Sledge said he would be more than happy to help you with any information they have, but you need to contact him yourself. Here is his contact information: Forest Lawn Cemetery Ken Sledge 6701 - 30th SW Seattle, WA 98126 (206)932-0050 Hope this helps! Evidently since there's not much going on this list maybe someone can help me with my R C MC CANN. I have no idea when or where he was born....however, he married an unknown JAKEWAY who was born in Iowa. I surmise he was born in Iowa or a state very close and they migrated to the Pacific Northwest. They had one daughter that I know of named DORA A b: 23 November 1878 d: 28 March 1928 and is buried in the Kingston Cemetery, Kingston WA. On her death certificate it does list her parents, but only information I gave you above. Dora married W L BONNER and they lived in Kingston until their deaths. I would appreciate a lookup of death certificate R C MC CANN and unknown JAKEWAY and any other source might be available. I do not have any information on either one of them. Thanks for any help you can give. Ethel

Hi, List, I am trying to get in touch with descendants of two family members who moved with their spouses who to Spokane in the 1920s. They are Vera Clark m. Harry D. Plock July 29, 1928 in Nebraska; they moved to Spokane shortly thereafter. They had one daughter, Myra, m. Jim Johnson and lived at E. 1428 14th Street. It is possible they still live there, and I would appreciate a lookup in the phone book for them. Esther Clark m. Ervin Plock, probably before 1928 and probably moved to Spokane before the Plocks did. I have birth and death dates from the Social Security death index, but no information on descendants. According to a 50th anniversary program I have, Ervin's brother also lived in Spokane, so there are probably quite a few Sinns left in the area. I would love to hear from descendants of Esther and Ervin or anyone who knew them. Thank you, Barbara Archer

I am really not with it. I sent the last message too soon. Bealy's wife's name was Pearl and they lived in Grays Harbor, Washington. James A. Coomes was also there at the same time. He was born 1859, parents were James T. Coomes and Amanda Davis. His wife was Malinda Caroline Hall, b 1861 Grayson Co., Virginia. In Washington James and Caroline I believe lived in Aberdeen, Grays Harbour, Washington. They had a 10 year old granddaughter Maude Burnett living with them. I would like to connect with this family too. Patience
Finally I have the location for Bealy Coomes in Washington. I would like to know anything about him or his family, particularly his grandfather, James T. Coomes. Here is what I have: Bealy Coomes, b 1893, Grayson Co., Virginia, d Oct. 1950. parents: John D. Coomes and Elizabeth Dunford. children: Vera, 1917 and Mara 1919. Patience

The Daily News, Longview, Wash., 1-26-99 "Spam Recipients May Soon Have More Legal Recourse" Washington residents tired of receiving junk email - "spam in computer lingo - soon may have more legal recourse against those who send the annoying messages promoting get-rich-quick schemes, pornography and the like. A bill filed in the House would expand the scope of a year old law, giving Internet service providers - which facilitate the delivery of email - the power to claim higher damages against spammers. It also would allow computer users to register electronic mail addresses in a state funded database that would make them out of bounds to would-be spammers. "We continue to lead the nation in moving to curtail the abuses," said Rep. Roger Bush, a Spanaway Republican and fifth grade teacher who sponsored the anti-spam law. "People are being hurt, businesses are being hurt. It's very bipartisan." The House Technology Telecommunications and Energy Committee was scheduled to take public testimony on the issue at a hearing today. Spam fell between the legislative cross hairs last year with the passage of a law banning mass mailers from disguising advertisements by putting misleading information in the header and subject line of emails, or by using another company's Internet name without permission. House Bill 1037 would plug some of the holes in that law at the recommendation of a task force that studied the issues last year, Bush said. It would require senders of commercial emails to include their names, addresses and telephone numbers in the body of the messages. Internet service providers could sue spammers who violate service provider policies on junk email and collect as much as $25,000 a day in fines, up from $1,000 currently. And consumers could go after spammers for damages of $500. Washington residents wishing to avoid junk email would be able to register their email addresses in a state funded database that would serve as notice to potential mass emails that registrants do not want to be spammed. Such a registry already exists, but it's provided voluntarily by the Washington Association of Internet Service Providers, or WAISP. Internet providers also can register, on behalf of themselves and their customers. ____________________ For text of the bill and its history, go to http://www.leg.wa.gov/wsladm/bills.htm Click on House Bill Information, then 1025-1049, then 1037 (the bill number) Shirley kworth@pacifier.com ICQ: 18990096 Yahoo Pager: Shirley_K77 Homespun~Country Kitchen: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~homespun/index.htm Disaster Relay: http://www.angelfire.com/ks/windshipgenhelp/ers.html Native American items: http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Screen/7830 * Registered member of WAISP anti-spam efforts *
