Here is a link to my family page at Rootsweb. http://www.rootsweb.com/~wioconto/labrosse.htm John married Anna Zoritta. He supposedly ended up in Washington State and around the late 1920's was murdered while playing cards. No trial, not enough evidence for a conviction. I just thought he may have left descendants as there are quite a few La Brosse families in Washington State and just across the border at Bonners Ferry Idaho. John may have divorced Anna and re-married. If by chance you have a john La Brosse in your family tree, contact me as I have other information on him and we may get a match.

She was > born in Laurel County Ky to Stephen and Martha Hensley. I > don't even have her date of birth, only that she was the > youngest child. As Julie indicated, you don't present enough info to search. 1. She was youngest child, a great aunt, born in KY. Expand: "my grandmother " ", was born in " ", Bertha's other siblings were " ", her next oldest sibling " " was born in " ". Stephen and Martha were born in "KY"?, they moved to? or died in KY. Bertha's husband was "...Bradshaw", he died in "year", "place". Bertha and her husband had children """""""". Bertha possibly died around 1974, in "city", "area", of "Washington State" or did you mean "Washington D.C."? An obituary of my "grandmother" said Bertha was still living when she died? Or, was living in "city", Washington at that time. If Bertha was the last born and her next born sibling was born in 1898, she 'probably' was born between 1898 and say 5 years later. If the last was born in 1888, then that indicates earlier birth. If she died in 1974, where? Can you get her obituary? I found a Bertha Bradshaw WA Death Index 1982 Centralia-81, one 1986 Clarkston-age 74. The 1930 census for Klickitat, WA, finds a Bertha 29 married to a Samuel Bradshaw 42, son named Loyd (Lloyd?) age 6, He was born in Kentucky, but she was West Virginia...so are you Sure she was born in Kentucky?, or is that where most of the children were born? This Bertha was in Lewis County...so was the one in Centralia that died at 81 in 1982. Info, info, info. Ron

    3. ----- Original Message ----- From: "gardner" <gardner@mymethow.com> > I am looking for the following books... Ask your local library, they can search and obtain via the Inter-library system. If you want to search. Try a search engine, I prefer the advanced search from http://www.alltheweb.com/advanced?cs=utf-8" Use the "exact phrase". I input "Up the Columbia for Furs" and got 19 hits. The first one "find in a library", you input Washington and it gave 35 libraries. I tried the last one Western Washington University, and input the book title "Up the Columbia.." and they have it available. Again, being in Winthrop, you can probably have it sent to your local library via the interlibrary loan. Ron Bestrom

    3. Sue, I like the free locating service offered by http://www.alibris.com. You put in the book title and if they come across it, they'll email you. Another thing you might try is http://www.powellbooks.com. They're in Portland have several huge buildings of books. I believe they may have a locator service similar to Alibris's. shirley :) gardner wrote: >I am looking for the following books... > >Adventure in the Northwest by Edson Dow...1964 >Up the Columbia for Furs by Cecil Dryden...1950 >Snow Sentinels of the Pacific Northwest by Joseph Hazard 1932 >History of the Town of Okanogan by Harry Kerr 1931 >The North Cascadians by Joanne Roe 1980 >History of Washington by Clinton Snowden > > > -- No virus found in this outgoing message. This Patrick Duffy was listed in the 1930 census as being a roomer in what is possibly at 13th and Yakima area. This man was a white male, 44 and divorced. He died 12 years later at 56. I couldn't find him in earlier census. Is this your person? The Tacoma Library maintains a list of obituaries, however not complete for 1942; however, this Patrick was listed. http://search.tpl.lib.wa.us/obits/ I took additional attempts to find a different one born in 1886 in Iowa without success.
