I am trying to locate the parents of a Nehemiah Washburn who was born in Connecticut around 1755-1765. He later moved to Massachusetts, and then finally settled in St. Lawrence County New York. Some reports list his wife as Betsey Edwards and others show Mary Ann Miftyn. Nehemiah had at least the following children: Rufus (b. 1791 in ??, d. Oct 15, 1828 in St. Lawrence Co. NY), wife: Orilla Stevens Nehemiah Jr (b. 1795 in MA, d. 9/7/1886 in St. Lawrence Co, NY), wife: Harriet Martin Abel (b. 1797 in MA, d. ????), wife: Nancy Ira (b. 1804 in MA, d. 1887 in NY), wife Milense/Melany Curtis? Nehemiah is believed to be the brother of a Captain Rufus Washburn who was also born in CT, moved to Otsego NY, and drowned in the Oswegatchie River in St. Lawrence County NY on 4/17/1817. Rufus was married to his cousin twice removed, Patience Washburn, daughter of Miles and Sarah Lyons Washburn. Rufus had 8 children (Sally or Sarah, Amasa, Nehemiah, William, Sabrina, John, Hannah, and Lucinda). Are any of these people familiar to anyone?
