    3. Dear List Members: I just joined the list and am doing research on the Washburn line. I have run into conflicting info, and was wondering if anyone out there might have a resolution for me. I am doing research on Joseph Washburn, son of John Washburn Jr. (b. 1621 in England, brother of Phillip) and his decendents. I was looking at the Washburn website the other night and noted that Jospeh Washburn was listed as being born 7 July 1653 in Bridgewater. But in scanning the files in my Family Tree Maker program, I noted at this Joseph was born in 1646. Further, I noted at the website that Joseph had a son, also named Joseph. At the website, no DOB is given. But a genealogy given me by a family member indicates this Joseph Washburn to be born in 1700 in Plymouth. This doesn't make sense to me......it seems that 1700 would be WAY to late for Joseph Sr. to be having Joseph Jr - in his 40's or 50's. I know that many of the Washburns in the US are related, but I am wondering if I have found the right people here or if there is a mistake in the info I have been given by my relative. I plan to verify all the info given me by this relative, because no sources were noted. But if someone here could give me a clue about this situation, I would be most grateful. Regards, Beda Warrick
