    3. I am sending you some Washburn information from the Bay of Quinte area of Ontario. I am currently off-line as far as the Washburn-List. I am descended from Capt. Robert Perry U.E. (1750-1837) and Jemima Gary Washburn (1754-1830 d/o Simeon Washburn & Jemima Gary). Capt. Robert Perry was a leading citizen in Ernestown Twp., Addington Co., Ontario. His effords were instrumental in establishing Methodism in Upper Canada. Robert and Jemima had ten children: 1.Rev. Robert Perry (1772-1856) + Ann Rogers d.1791 + Esther Aylesworth d.1803 + Sally Sine d.1868 2. Amy Perry (1775-1806) + James Williams 3. Patience Perry (1777-1844) + Daniel Pomeroy (1769-1808) 4. Rev. Daniel Perry (1779-1844) + Jane Williams (1777-1845) 5. Hannah Perry (1781-1866) + Bowen L. Aylesworth (1778-1863) 6. Rev. David Perry (1783-1881) + Elizabeth Ward + Elizabeth Miller (1788-1871) 7. Sarah Perry (1785-1803) + _____ Lucas (probably Dennis Lucas 1781-1877) 8. Ebenezer Perry (1788-1876) + Susan Van Norman d.1832 + Apphia Randolph + Susan Bonesteel + Susan Note: Ebenezer and Apphia had a son - Abisha Washburn Perry who married Eliza Davy 9. Mary Perry (b.1791) + William Hawley (b.1790) 10. Peter Perry, M.L.A. (1793-1856) + Mary Ham Note: Peter was a leader of the Reform movement which led to the Rebellion of Upper Canada in 1837. His partner was Marshall Springs Bidwell, son of Barnabas Bidwell, a prominent Mass. citizen who was a spokesman for Pres. Thomas Jefferson before he fled to Canada under scandal. ===================================================== In 1993 Larry Turner wrote that: In 1818 Marshall Springs Bidwell clerked for a Kingston, Ontario lawyer named Daniel Washburn. This Daniel Washburn was said to be a cousin of Peter Perry M.L.A. Daniel Washburn was disbarred for theft in 1820 and Bidwell took over the practice. ===================================================== In 1900 Thomas Casey wrote: The First Magistrates Appointed in 1788 "Elisha Washburn resided west of Bath<ON>, near the Fredericksburgh boundary line, and was one of the Government officers for dealing out teh provision supplies in 1786 and other years. He was the father-in-law of the Rev. Robert McDowall, the first Presbyterian missionary in the province." nb. could this be Jemima Gary Washburn's brother Abisha? ===================================================== Mr. Turner writes of Rev. McDowall: "In 1800 he married Hannah Washburn, daughter of Ebenezer, who was an original settler in Ernestown with Jessup's Rangers. The McDowall's...won a prize for the best farm in the district in 1835." Nb. This seems to contradict the previous passage, unless Ebenezer and Elisha were the same person. ===================================================== Mr. Turner writes of Ebenezer Washburn: Ebenezer Washburn was a sergeant in Jessup's Rangers. "Ebenezer Washburn, who lived in Ernestown until 1796, and then moved to Frederisksburgh and, later, Picton." ===================================================== Russ Waller as interpreted Ebenezer's family as follows: Ebenezer b1756 m1782 d1827 UE Hallowell Twp. m.
