GREETINGS TO EVERYONE THIS HOLIDAY SEASON: Monday 15 December 1997 I wish to share with you some personal comments from our "cousin" June about Brenton Washbourne's new "two" volume book "The Washburn Family in America" (second edition). I want to (again) thank you, Cousin June, for your kind comments..... In knowing Brenton personnally, I know him to be very thorough and a "credit" to research of the Washburn/Washbourne family in its entirety. Everyone can benefit from his research. I wish to extend to everyone to have a safe and wonderful holiday season! ........Cousin Chuck (I) ======================================================================== From: JWilkin464 <[email protected]> Date: Mon, 15 Dec 1997 15:39:19 EST To: [email protected] Subject: Re: ...Thank you for your kind words..... "Cousin" Chuck, Received your message today. Yes, you may post my message concerning THE WASHBURN FAMILY IN AMERICA. I can understand people hesitating to order the books. When I first saw them I thought, " I guess I paid a lot of money for a list of a whole lot names that mean nothing to me." But when I got into it I realized how much very well organized information it contains--interesting comments, maps, etc, too. Thanks, "Cousin" June ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you for telling me about Benton Washburne's Book, THE WASHBURN FAMILY IN AMERICA. I ordered the books ( I mentioned your name) and have been working with them to trace my branch of the Washburn family. My first impression of the book was, "What a tremendous project !! , and the more i worked with it, the more respect I gained for anyone who can research and record all that information. It was a little challenging for me to follow the code, but finally traced it down to my Dad, Clare G. Washburn 1893. That branch of the Washburn name stopped there as he was the last boy and his only son (my brother) died in infantcy. I will write to Brenton, but just want to thank you for your help and information you have posted on the Washburn List. I haven't found what Kin we are, but I am sure it could be traced through this book. For now I will sign this, Cousin June. June Washburn Wilkinson.
