    3. Hi Susan and Dixie, Thank you for the correction, Susan. I haven't seen this article yet. I don't know of a Washburn family that was settled in Deerfield as early as 1757, do you, Susan? There were no Washburn births recorded in the published vital records of Deerfield. I know that Deerfield originally covered a large area, and that some of the original settlers abandoned town during the French & Indian Wars, so possibly if Luther was born in Deerfield his parents were there only a short time.
