From an unpublished manuscript on the Portman family which I found at the Michigan State Library in Lansing is the following information: Florence Alberta Whaley born Mar. 31, 1856 in Kalamazoo Co. MI., d Oct. 22, 1927, m Francis E. Washburn Oct. 18, 1874. Francis was b Apr. 13, 1848 in Eldred, PA and d Apr. 22, 1918 in Pawnee City, NE.
