The vital records of the town of Lenox, Berkshire Co., MA, have never been published in book form. Those with ancestry in Lenox must use the microfiche copy of the town records published by the Holbrook Institute, available at some libraries, which is awkward and hard on the eyes. Jacob Washburn and his wife, Phebe Northrup, were early settlers of Lenox, and left a number of descendants in Lenox in the 19th century, and I have tried to abstract all the vital records of their family from Lenox that I could find, which I am posting to the mail list. In addition, you'll fiind the marriages for Jacob's sons Ira and Thomas G. in the vital records of neighboring Lee, MA, which have been published. (Notice, below, that birth records for daughter Mary and son Miles Washburn were not recorded with the rest of the children, and although there are lots of marriages, there is a gap in the birth records in Lenox from the beginning of the 19th century to about 1844, so most of Jacob and Phebe's grandchildren's births were not recorded.
