Forgive me if you have already done this (and my response is naive, then) In the 1820 census for Jefferson County there are Washburn family members in NY. In the 1830 census for Lorrain, J County is John Washburn in 1840 census for Lorraine J. County John is still there. in 1850 census for Lorraine , J. County, there is an Isaac. in 1860 census you then will see Charles, I (probably still Isaac) and a "D" Washburn Do you think that these are his uncles? brothers? If you can follow one of these lines backwards it may lead you to George again. Also, did you investigate Warren County? Jean (again, forgive me if you have already done this; my line is also the Washington County but I am assuming there will be a connection at some point to Jefferson County.)
