Hello. I am the gggrandson of a Ruth Washburn from Windham and Cumberland Maine. She was married to Zahariah Field in 1839. She was born 1810 and died 1861. I have no more information than that on her. I did find a Ruth Fields (with an s) who died in Westbrook Maine on the "poor" farm. It may be the same person, but why would her husband have abandoned her to the poor farm? He died and is buried in West Cumberland Maine with a stone. She is not with him in this lot. I cannot find her grave. Maybe buried on the property??? Can anyone shed any light on this for me? Would truly appreciate it. Thank you so much...George Davis Westbrook, Maine...
