David, >>I knew there were Washburns in Michigan but never knew what branch they were >>from. It's a "keeper" -- well I keep ALL Washburn stuff! :-) There are other WASHBURNS in Michigan, but I don't know who they are. My WASHBURN line was in CT and NC at least what I have traced of them. My WHITE grandparents didn't come to Michigan until about 1900 by way of Chicago and Kenosha, WI. One of my WASHBURN treasure is a series of letters written by Brevort General George Abiel WASHBURN to his wife, Sarah WHITE. She just happened to be William Wirt WHITE's sister. These letters from about 1854-1863 detail a journey to Missouri from Hartford via Canada and Detroit. On this trip he also visited a brother, Christopher in Wisconsin. If I remember right Christopher ended up in Medina, OH, with many of the WEBBER relatives. Jeanne
