Hi Everyone!! I have quite a dilemma. According to Brenton Washburn's book there is a Lewis H. Washburn born in Randolph, Vt in 1816. He married Laura (Wood) Bond. Laura was born in 1814. They had (4) children: Ellen Washburn b. 1841 Olive Washburn b. 1844 Lewis H. Washburn b 1845 d. 1847 Laura Wood Washburn b. 1847 d. 1849 According to the census of 1850 and 1860, they were living in Medford, MA. In my own search, I found Lewis H. Washburn born in Randolph, VT in 1816. According to the 1870 in Medford, MA. Lewis was married to Mary C. ? with (4) children. Henry F. Washburn b. 1860 (Mother? Laura or Mary) Albert E. Washburn b. 10/8/1863 (Great grandfather) George Washburn b. 8/14/1865 Mary C. Washburn b. 1866 Some time in the 1870's they moved to Ellenville, NY. (Ulster County) Lewis died 11/10/1884 in Wawarsing, NY. (Ellenville is a village in Wawarsing) Is there anyone that can claim or disclaim that these two Lewis Washburn's are one in the same. Since I live in California, I can't do the footwork in MA. I would also like to know who Henry's mother is. I think this is the key to the dilemma. Helen Washburn [email protected]
