And hello from the "other" Chuck Washburn! (I'm the guy who has attempted to maintain a Washburn Family History Page at "http://home.earthlink.net/~cwashburn/history.html.") I had noticed the postings to this Discussion List by the Chuck at "[email protected]," and I must admit that I was wondering if people were aware that there are two of us out here. Chuck has communicated with me on several occasions regarding the Rebecca Lapham issue, which I really appreciate. Also, I believe John Maltby a little while back shared with all of us newly discovered information that was discussed in the July 1996 issue of The American Genealogist, which information supports the position that the Rebecca who married John Washburn III was a Lapham. Once again, many thanks to John Maltby for expanding everyone's knowledge regarding the Washburn family ... I know John has been a big help to me. I believe Chuck actually sent me a digitized copy of a photograph of John Washburn III's tombstone attached to an E-mail message some time ago. Although I was able to open it using L-View Pro, the file was extremely large and I had trouble trying to get it into a size and form that I could put on the web page. (Chuck, if you want to try again, I'll do my best to convert it. If you can send it in .jpg or .gif, it may go more smoothly.) I think the best way for the two of us to identify ourselves on this Discussion List will be for each of us to put his E-mail address following his name. I don't plan on changing my E-mail address anytime soon. My E-mail address is also on my Washburn Family web page in case someone wants to confirm which Chuck is the author of a posting to this list.
