    1. Re: Reuben Washburn and Julia Ann Stewart
    2. I have no information on the marriage of a Reuben Washburn to a Julia Ann Stewart, however other pieces of information in this record fit together too well for the following not to be the likely lineage of Reuben. What caught my eye was the Francis Edwin Washburn b. 1848 in PA , son of Reuben From the Revolutionary War Pension Record of ISAIAH WASHBURN born 1754 in Middleborough, MA Letter of inquiry Pawnee County Mutual Insurance Co. Pawnee City, Nebraska January 14, 1914 E.C. Tieman - acting Commissioner, Bureau of Pensions, Washington, D.C. Dear Sir: - Some of our family are interested in matters of the Daughters of the American Revolution and we wish for the facts - record of Isaiah Washburn who enlisted in Massachusets - Middleborough - Capt. Wood Said Isaiah Washburn was born at Middleborough, Mass 1754, and died at Windham, Bradford Co., PA in 1840. He had a son, Abiel Washburn, which was my grandfather, my father's name being Reuben S. Wshburn. Please give us the military record of Isaiah Washburn in the American Revolution and oblige. And if you will grant the favor, we wish for the millitary record of Isaiah Washburn, son of Abiel in the Civil War signed F.E. Washburn Lineage listed in a letter like this is not PRIMARY source documentation. However, It must be more than coincidence the the inquiry written by Leslie Quist has a Francis Edwin Washburn dying in 1919 Pawnee Co., NE, which is the same location that this letter comes from. I would strongly suspect that the F.E. Washburn of the letter and the Francis Edwin Washburn of the E-mail inquiry are the same man. I think it can be safely assumed that the F.E. Washburn who wrote the letter would probably be correct in naming his father as Reuben S. Washburn and his grandfather as Abiel Washburn, Such relationships are usually known to a person. The Revolutionary War Pension of Isaiah has several documents submitted by the son Abiel Washburn Among the statements of Abiel Washburn was that his father Isaiah Washburn died at Windham, Bradford Co., PA on 5 Jan 1840 Isaiah had resided for a time in the town of Cortland, NY, I can give further information and documentation for the lineage if anyone is interested Susan Bingler Fairfax, VA
