Found this Washburn Obits Opal Carter Opal Carter, 81, Shawnee, died Saturday. She was born Nov. 30, 1917, in Little Axe to Willard and "Fannie" (Johnson) Washburn. She graduated from Knowles School. She married Fred Martin and, after his death in 1962, married Alton Carter in 1974. She had lived in Pink, Little Axe, Oklahoma City, Indianola, and, for the past seven years, in Shawnee. She had worked at St. Anthony Hospital and at the Oklahoma Golf and Country Club. She also was preceded in death by her second husband in 1989; her parents; daughter Barbara June Honn; ten sisters; and six brothers. She is survived by son-in-law Lewis A. Honn, Shawnee; grandson Carl Fred Chastain, Waxahachie, Texas; four great-grandchildren; and several cousins. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cooper Funeral Chapel, Tecumseh, with the Rev. James Walters officiating. Burial will be in Tecumseh Cemetery.
