Pardon me for butting in so rudely but I am trying to get some ideas of my wife's Washburn family. What I can tell most of her family from 1850-1860 was from Illinois and Indiana. Her Washburns were from Knox County, Indiana and in East central Illinois. I have noticed there was an ASA Washburn that was from VT that died in Knox County, IN and he seemed to be the oldest Washburn around that area. Anybody have an idea? It's nice to read of the Washburns in the 1700s in Ct. and surrounding states but I need a tie. Her family in question was Thomas Washburn and Sophia Plew who were md in the 1830s in either IL or IN.
