Hi All, Last summer someone on the list was kind enough to help me out on my gg grandfather James A. Washburn's parents, Bethuel Washburn and Eunice Gifford. I believe his parents were listed in Brent Washburn's book. Can anybody who has the book tell me if any brother's or sisters of James are listed. Bethuel and Eunice died in Mannsville, NY in 1831 and 1832, when James was 4. I'd be interested if anyone else is down from this family if they know who raised the children. Also, I know James was in Monroe County Wisconsin in the 1850's with at least one other brother, but I don't know their names. Thanks for the help. Marc Chambers

According to Brenton's book, James had the following siblings: John Albert b. 1814 in Litchfield NY; d. 1893 Sarah Lurency b. 1817 Lyman Gardner b. 1820 in Jefferson County NY; d. 1859 in Wabasha County MN Dwight Bethuel b. 1821 in NY Joel Gilbert b. 1830; d. in Mannsville NY Isaac b. 1832 in NY My Washburns were also in Monroe County WI--having arrived from Vermont in the late 1840's--but apparently we come from different branches of the family.
