    3. Thanks to Nivard and Gus for their prompt responses.  The details I have are from a family member that is now deceased.  James Brunty died 22 May 1772, his wife Jane Buckley died 18 May 1768 both in Birmingham.  It says they were wed in 1741 in Cheshire, England.  How can I confirm this and move ahead to find their parents?   Regards, Uncle Jim ________________________________ From: Nivard Ovington <ovington1@sky.com> To: warwick@rootsweb.com Sent: Sunday, January 13, 2013 5:09 AM Subject: Re: [WAR] Warwickshire Death Record of 1772 Hi UJ Deaths were not recorded officially until 1837, before that it would be the burial in the vast majority of cases The burial will probably be recorded in the parish registers but at that time is highly unlikely to give more than the index The date and name will be recorded There may be Age Abode Relationship (ie the wife of XXXX) Details can vary depending upon the Clerk / Vicar so its generally worth checking Why not post the details to see if anyone can help you Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 13/01/2013 03:04, Jim Andrews wrote: > > As a Newbie, my question is: Are there death records from Birmingham > from 1772 available? 3. Hi Maureen, Help me here!  Yes, I have seen the familysearch record of the marriage.  It's just a line list of James married Jane.  Would this be the only record of their marriage?  If so, how does one continue to search for parents and lineage?   Regards, Uncle Jim ________________________________ From: Maureen Eden <maureen.eden@ntlworld.com> To: 'Jim Andrews' <jmjandrews@ameritech.net>; warwick@rootsweb.com Sent: Sunday, January 13, 2013 8:35 AM Subject: Re: [WAR] Warwickshire Death Record of 1772 Hi Jim There's a marriage for James Brunt to Jane Buckly 11 July 1741 in Astbury, Cheshire on the Familysearch site but unfortunately no other details HTH Maureen -----Original Message----- From: warwick-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:warwick-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Jim Andrews Sent: 13 January 2013 13:10 To: warwick@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [WAR] Warwickshire Death Record of 1772 Thanks to Nivard and Gus for their prompt responses. 3. Hi at that time (1754-1837) it had which parishes the bride and groom were resident in at the time of the marriage ,if by banns or licence, two witnesses, both their signatures or marks and the name of the officiating minister. 3. Hi again Jim I think the Marriage Record may be on findmypast.co.uk - if you visit the site there is an offer for 50 free credits in the bottom RH corner. You don't have to give your credit card details to register for this offer. The marriage is under Jane Buckly 1741 Astbury, Cheshire & will cost 20 credits to view the image. My only other suggestion is to contact Cheshire Records Office, they will do one 10 minute, free search. You may be lucky, as you have the exact date of marriage & the Parish.
