Marilyn, The only likely emigration/immigration record I can find on Ancestry is one for a William FERGUSON born c1838 who departed from London on the ship "Scottish Knight" and arrived at Rockhampton on 9 April 1878. I'm not sure this is your William though, as I cannot find immigration records for Jane, Effie or son William Fairlie at the moment and as son James Andrew FERGUSSON was born in 1878 in Queensland, the timescale is a bit tight. Aha, now this could be a more likely candidate for the ship: Arrival date 4 April 1877 at Port Phillip Bay on the ship "Glendaruel" William FERGUSON aged 4 Effie FERGUSON aged 8 W F FERGUSON aged 36 M (Mrs?) FERGUSON aged 32 I know the ages are a bit out for William & Jane, but there aren't likely to be too many Effie's around are there! Definitely worth further investigation on your part. Janet
